Decorating and Styling for Halloween
As an interior designer, I always look forward to the joy that comes with holiday decorating, and Halloween is the perfect start to the festive season! Our decorations take on a new life every year, especially as my daughter grows and adds her creative touch. For me, it’s a blend of past and present, with cherished pieces I’ve had since my son was a baby alongside new finds that reflect our evolving style.
Some of the most memorable items in my collection hold deep personal meaning. My mom used to make ceramics, which have become treasured keepsakes. It’s nostalgic and heartwarming to include them in our décor year after year. Along with these sentimental pieces, I love mixing in various handmade items, vintage finds, and even some fun pieces from Target or online.
One of my favorite ways to use holiday décor is to use fabric in unexpected ways. Whether draped as a wall hanging or as a backdrop on a bookshelf, the fabric adds a unique, cozy texture to the space.
We’re diving into Halloween decorating this weekend, and I can already picture the excitement. We’ll crank up the spooky music, and my daughter will invent imaginative games with all the decorations. It’s these little moments that make the season so special.
Wishing you all a Halloween filled with treats, fun, and a little bit of magic!
